Love from Notre Dame

Thanks to the organizing efforts of the Notre Dame Club of Greater Jacksonville every summer since 1989, L’Arche Jacksonville has enjoyed Notre Dame students from the Summer Service Learning Program. It was a pleasure to welcome Giovanni Komyatte and Nicole Heredia at Peace House and Greatfull House this summer. They shared life, cooked, laughed, and learned from Jeffrey, Viva, Jack, Joy, Sara, Pam, Kathy, and Sonia; and contemplated how to do their part to create “a world where justice and love prevail.” (Constitution of the Congregation of the Holy Cross)

Students who participate in the University of Notre Dame Summer Service Learning Program are encouraged to use the experience to consider questions like “How do my actions contribute to the common good?” and “How can I use my skills to promote justice and human dignity?”

But Wait… There’s MORE!

Not to be outdone by their fellow future alumni, Notre Dame Club members also participated in a day of service, completing a variety of tasks including spreading mulch across a particularly bumpy section of the Greatfull House parking lot to improve the safety of the area for everyone. Students and alumni, L’Arche loves you too!
